Who are we and what do we do?

Glance is an AI-powered digital content and discovery platform integrated natively onto the smartphone lockscreen. Operating as a subsidiary of the InMobi Group-consistently recognised on both the CNBC Disruptor 50 list and as one of Fast Company's World's Most Innovative Companies-Glance has fundamentally redefined how digital experiences are consumed. Consistently featured among the "Great Places to Work" in India, our culture is our true north, enabling us to think big, solve complex challenges, and grow with new opportunities.

Today, Glance is building an entirely new way to discover and shop. Our commerce experiences are designed to feel personal, visual, and fluid-moving beyond traditional, intent-based search into a world of inspiration-led discovery. Rooted in fashion and expanding into broader lifestyle journeys, the work sits at the precise intersection of systemic product thinking, premium aesthetic taste, and massive engineering scale.

The Reality of Our Scale: Glance is a structural market force pre-installed on over 450 million smartphones globally, serving more than 235 million active users who engage with our surfaces natively out of the box. Your design choices will instantly shape one of the largest and most frequent digital footprints in the mobile ecosystem.

Who will do well in this role?

This role is for an elite motion designer who understands that movement in a user interface is not decoration-it is meaning. The right individual brings deep kinetic restraint, choreographic rhythm, spatial judgment, and physical intuition. You know exactly how motion can reduce cognitive friction, improve structural orientation, establish system responsiveness, and define the emotional signature of an interface. On an ambient surface like the lockscreen, motion is central to how the product communicates elegance and responsiveness.

What will you work on?

  • Architect the Kinetic Signature: Define, maintain, and elevate the unified motion language, choreographed transitions, and physics engines across Glance's mobile surfaces. Your work will span everything from micro-interactions and tactile feedback loops to rich, immersive visual narratives.
  • Integrate Motion Early: Partner intimately with UX, Visual Design, Product, and Engineering from the initial ideation phase, ensuring that motion is treated as an architectural foundation of the user journey rather than a cosmetic addition at the end of a sprint.
  • Systematise Repeatable Behaviour: Create reusable, scalable motion principles, interpolation curves, timing guidelines, and asset packages that allow other product teams to scale consistent kinetic behaviour across features and use cases.
  • Bridge Concept to Code: Build high-fidelity interactive prototypes to test real feel and collaborate directly with front-end Android engineers to translate motion paths into production code without loss of visual fidelity.
  • Mentor and Inspire: Guide, structure, and educate junior designers within the studio on the principles of UI motion, framing motion as an instrument of clarity and brand expression.
  • Represent the Studio: Share your insights, workflow methodologies, and Glance's motion innovation both internally to the larger InMobi organisation and externally within the broader global design community.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Motion Product Portfolio: A collection of work showcasing interactive prototyping, UI animation, kinetic system frameworks, or transition choreographies embedded within shipped software or applications.
  • Kinetic Physics & Timing: Deep structural mastery of easing curves, interpolation, velocity, spatial tracking, and visual storytelling inside confined mobile environments.
  • Advanced Tooling Expertise: High proficiency with After Effects, Figma, Principle, ProtoPie, or equivalent interactive prototyping ecosystems.
  • Technical Communication: Ability to communicate complex motion parameters, frame constraints, and behaviour definitions precisely to engineering partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Native familiarity with gesture tracking, system windows, and navigation transitions native to modern Android OS distributions.
  • Experience building and maintaining code-exportable animation pipelines (e.g., Lottie, custom vector drawables, or native engine transition values) to ensure pixel-perfect deployment.
  • A Bachelor's, Master's, or Post-Graduate degree in Animation, Media Arts, Interactive Design, Film/Video Design, or an equivalent technical creative field.
