Database Architecture, Schema Design & Data Modeling: Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise-grade database solutions with a primary focus on PostgreSQL, and Amazon Aurora. Design scalable schemas, optimize data models, and establish indexing strategies to support high-throughput, mission-critical applications.
Cluster Operations & High Availability: Design, implement, and manage highly available database clusters, ensuring resilience through replication, failover, backup, disaster recovery, and load balancing.
Performance & Production Excellence: Own the performance, scalability, and reliability of databases supporting high-criticality production applications. Diagnose and resolve complex production issues while driving continuous performance optimization.
Architecture & Technical Leadership: Provide end-to-end architectural support from solution design through production deployment. Partner with Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams to build scalable, secure, and reliable database platforms for mission-critical workloads.
What You've Done
- 8-12 years of experience as a Database Engineer, Database Administrator, or Database Architect.
- Strong hands-on expertise in PostgreSQL, and Amazon Aurora.
- Strong experience in database schema design, data modeling, normalization/denormalization, and query optimization.
- Hands-on experience managing large-scale database clusters, replication, failover, and high availability.
- Experience designing, architecting, and supporting end-to-end database solutions for business-critical, high-traffic production applications.
- Strong expertise in database performance tuning, capacity planning, troubleshooting, backup, restore, and disaster recovery.
- Experience with cloud database platforms, preferably AWS.
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages for automation.
Nice to Have
- Experience with MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, and Elasticsearch.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and distributed systems.
- Exposure to machine learning and big data technologies.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
