Job Overview

Spandana Hospital is seeking a dedicated Junior Sterilization Technician for our Bangalore location. This full-time position requires 1 to 3 years of experience in sterilization practices. The role involves ensuring the maintenance and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience with autoclave operation and the ability to effectively sterilize instruments to ensure patient safety.
  • A firm grasp of instrument sterilization techniques to maintain hygiene and prevent infections.
  • Knowledge in infection control procedures to minimize the spread of hospital-acquired infections.
  • Ability to perform quality assurance checks to uphold standards of sterilization and equipment efficiency.
  • Competency in documentation practices to accurately record sterilization processes and inventory details.
  • Proficiency in inventory management to ensure adequate supplies while minimizing waste.
  • Understanding of ethylene oxide sterilization for equipment sensitive to heat and moisture.
  • Skills in equipment maintenance to ensure longevity and optimal performance of sterilization devices.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments and hospital equipment.
  • Implement infection control practices and compliance with hospital sterilization protocols.
  • Monitor and operate sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and ethylene oxide chambers.
  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, test results, and equipment maintenance logs.
  • Manage supply inventory, check expiration dates, and place orders for sterilization-related items.
  • Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to ensure timely availability of sterile equipment.
  • Ensure all sterilization equipment is in proper working condition through regular checks and routine maintenance.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to enhance sterilization procedures and improve safety standards.
