Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server database environments.
Perform database monitoring, maintenance, and performance optimization.
Manage database backup, restoration, and recovery activities.
Troubleshoot database performance, connectivity, and availability issues.
Perform SQL Server performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
Monitor database health, capacity, and resource utilization.
Configure and manage High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
Manage SQL Server security, including users, roles, permissions, and access control.
Perform database migration, upgrades, patching, and version management.
Develop and maintain database maintenance plans and operational procedures.
Monitor and troubleshoot SQL Server Agent jobs, alerts, and scheduled tasks.
Work closely with development and infrastructure teams to resolve database-related issues.
Participate in production support, incident management, and root-cause analysis.
Ensure database environments comply with organizational security, availability, and performance standards.
Required Skills & Experience
6–12 years of experience as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA.
Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server database administration.
Good knowledge of SQL Server architecture, database management, and troubleshooting.
Strong experience in Backup & Recovery.
Experience with Performance Tuning and Query Optimization.
Good knowledge of Indexing, Statistics, and Execution Plans.
Experience with SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery concepts.
Hands-on experience with Always On Availability Groups, clustering, or similar HA technologies.
Good knowledge of SQL Server Agent, Jobs, Alerts, and Maintenance Plans.
Experience in database security, user management, roles, and permissions.
Experience with database migration, upgrades, and patching.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
