Social Media Account Manager
Job Description
About Xtracut
\nXtracut Systems Private Limited is a Chennai-based digital marketing and web development agency. We are a Google Partner, a Meta Business Partner and a Zoho Authorised Partner, working across healthcare, education, retail and D2C accounts on brand, content, performance and technology.
\nJob Summary
\nWe are looking for a Social Media Account Manager who understands social media deeply—not just as a profession, but as an evolving digital ecosystem. The core of this role is ideation: spotting trends early, identifying their relevance to the brand, and turning them into reels or posts that can be effectively executed with the resources at hand. Equally important is accountability: you own the numbers on your accounts and are responsible for achieving the growth targets committed to the client each month.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nPerformance and Goal Ownership
\n- \n
- Own the monthly KPIs on every account you handle — followers, reach, engagement, video views, leads \n
- Work to agreed monthly growth targets and track progress through the month, not at the end of it \n
- Review performance weekly and course-correct while there is still time in the cycle \n
- Flag any account trending below target early, with a recovery plan — not an explanation after the fact \n
- Justify content decisions with data: what worked, what did not, what changes next month \n
Content and Ideation
\n- \n
- Ideate reel concepts weekly — hooks, formats, audio, treatment — and pitch them with a clear rationale for why they will work \n
- Track trends daily and adapt relevant ones to brand context within the trend's shelf life \n
- Write scripts, captions and carousel copy in English and Tanglish/Tamil that read as spoken, not translated \n
- Build monthly content calendars and see them through to publishing on schedule \n
- Prepare shot lists and coordinate shoots — talent, location, props, timelines \n
- Brief designers and editors, and QC output before it reaches the account lead \n
Shoot Coordination — Client and Production Team
\n- \n
- Own the monthly shoot calendar end to end — plan shoot days in line with the content calendar and lock them well before the publishing window \n
- Coordinate with the client to confirm dates, locations, permissions and the availability of spokespeople, doctors, staff or talent \n
- Circulate the shoot brief, shot list and references to the client for approval ahead of the shoot, and close all open points before the crew is booked \n
- Brief and schedule the production team — photographer, videographer, editor and support crew — on call time, equipment, deliverables and location logistics \n
- Run the shoot day on ground: hold the schedule, work through the shot list, manage talent between setups and take client approvals on the spot where possible \n
- Confirm footage handover, backup and edit timelines with the production team immediately after every shoot \n
- Track shoot costs against budget and flag overruns before commitments are made \n
- Maintain a shoot tracker — planned versus completed shoot days, footage received, and content published from each shoot \n
Performance Marketing Creatives
\n- \n
- Ideate and brief ad creatives for paid campaigns — statics, carousels and video cuts \n
- Write ad copy, hooks and CTAs built for conversion, not for organic reach \n
- Work with the performance team on offers, landing page alignment and audience-led messaging \n
- Supply creative variants for testing and refresh fatigued creatives on schedule \n
- Read ad-level performance and feed learnings back into the next creative round \n
Platforms
\n- \n
- Own content planning and publishing across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube \n
- Adapt tone and format per platform — LinkedIn is not a mirror of Instagram \n
- Manage community engagement across all four — comments, DMs, and lead capture flows \n
Influencer Marketing
\n- \n
- Identify and shortlist creators that fit the brand and the budget \n
- Handle outreach, negotiation, commercials and contracts \n
- Write influencer briefs and manage shoot-day coordination \n
- Track deliverables, approvals and posting timelines \n
- Report on influencer campaign performance and cost per outcome \n
Client Coordination
\n- \n
- Act as day-to-day point of contact — updates, approvals, escalations \n
- Run review calls with performance data and forward plans \n
- Convert client feedback into clear, actionable briefs for the internal team \n
- Manage expectations on timelines and scope, and flag risks early \n
Reporting
\n- \n
- Deliver weekly performance reports with target versus achieved for every metric \n
- Maintain the content tracker as the single source of record, updated weekly \n
Required Skills and Qualifications
\n- \n
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Media or a related field \n
- 3–4 years in social media content, agency experience preferred \n
- Demonstrated ability to ideate original short-form video concepts — portfolio or reel links required \n
- Track record of working to and meeting defined social media targets \n
- Strong grasp of Instagram Reels mechanics: hook retention, watch time, audio selection, posting cadence \n
- Experience briefing or writing paid ad creatives and copy \n
- Hands-on experience managing Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube alongside Instagram \n
- Experience coordinating shoots end to end — client scheduling, production crew briefing and on-ground execution \n
- Prior influencer marketing experience — outreach through to reporting \n
- Client-facing confidence: can hold a review call and take feedback without escalating everything \n
- Fluent written Tamil and English \n
- Working knowledge of Meta Business Suite, Canva and scheduling tools \n
- Able to read platform analytics and convert insight into the next month's plan \n
Note: Video editing is not required for this role.
\nKey Performance Indicators
\n- \n
- Monthly growth targets met per account — reach, engagement, followers, video views \n
- On-time publishing against the calendar, zero missed dates \n
- Shoots planned, approved and executed on schedule with the client and production team \n
- Weekly reports submitted on time and acted upon \n
- Volume and quality of reel concepts pitched and approved each month \n
- Ad creative performance — CTR and cost per lead against benchmarks \n
- Influencer campaigns delivered on time and within budget \n
- Client satisfaction and retention \n
