Senior Software Engineer - Data

What You'll Do:

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to play a critical role in scaling our core systems. In this role, you will sit at the intersection of backend engineering and large-scale infrastructure, building the foundational pipelines, APIs, and architectures that drive our healthcare advertising solutions and support our core products, reporting APIs, and analytics initiatives.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will own complex systems end-to-end, champion engineering best practices, and collaborate seamlessly across product and technical teams to deliver high-performance, fault-tolerant solutions.

• Architect & Build: Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable, reliable, and cost-optimized distributed systems and backend services.
• Enable Self-Service Data: Build intuitive, automated ingestion and transformation pipelines that empower downstream users to seamlessly onboard and utilize new datasets.
• Develop Core APIs: Design and maintain secure, high-throughput reporting APIs and microservices (using Java/Spring Boot) to surface insights to internal tools and external customer-facing products.
• Champion Operational Excellence: Establish and enforce robust DevOps and DataOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, infrastructure as code (IaC), and system observability.
• Optimize Performance: Evaluate and implement advanced data modeling, storage, and aggregation methodologies to meet complex, real-time reporting and analytics requirements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, and Analysts to translate business requirements into robust technical architectures.
• Raise the Bar: Act as a technical multiplier by mentoring mid-level and junior engineers, leading code/design reviews, and continuously improving team standards.

Who You Are:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, backend development, and building data-intensive applications at scale.
• Hands-on experience building and operating robust systems in public cloud environments (GCP or AWS).
• Deep proficiency with distributed processing and open-source Apache frameworks (e.g., Spark, Airflow, Kafka) as well as modern analytical databases (e.g., BigQuery, ClickHouse).
• Polyglot programming experience with strong coding skills in Java (Spring Boot) and SQL, alongside solid experience in Python and Bash scripting.
• A strong grasp of system design, API architecture, Agile methodologies, and cost-performance trade-offs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the proven ability to articulate complex technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
