The Assistant Manager, Group Financial Reporting, supports the delivery of high-quality financial reporting for Brit Group, ensuring compliance with IFRS, UK regulatory requirements, and Group Accounting Policies. The role is responsible for supporting the preparation of consolidated financial statements, management reporting, and regulatory reporting across the Group's legal entities and international operations.

The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Actuarial, Underwriting, Investment, Tax, and Risk functions to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of financial results while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the reporting and consolidation process.

Essential

  • Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline.

Desirable

  • Experience in insurance or financial services reporting environments
  • Knowledge of IFRS 17 and insurance accounting principles

External Hiring

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial results for the Brit Group and its legal entities.
  • Support the preparation of Group financial statements in accordance with IFRS, including IFRS 17 Insurance Contracts and IFRS 9 Financial Instruments.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial information submitted by business units and regional finance teams.
  • Support the preparation of Board, Executive Management, and shareholder reporting packs.
  • Review financial results and investigate significant variances against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Prepare insightful management commentary explaining key drivers impacting underwriting performance, claims experience, investment income, and expense movements.
  • Assist in maintaining robust reporting calendars and reporting governance processes.
  • Support reporting requirements associated with the Lloyd's and London Market environment.
  • Assist in delivering reporting requirements under Solvency II, UK regulatory, and statutory reporting frameworks.
  • Collaborate with Actuarial teams to understand and validate reserves, claims liabilities, and IFRS 17-related reporting inputs.
  • Support production of statutory accounts and regulatory submissions for relevant Group entities.
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Respond to auditor and stakeholder queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with Group Financial Controls Framework, governance standards, and internal control requirements.
  • Support implementation of new accounting standards, regulatory developments, and Group reporting policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency, automation, data quality, and standardization.
  • Support finance transformation projects, including reporting system enhancements and process optimization initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of reporting templates, reconciliations, and documentation.
  • Leverage technology and analytics tools to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
