Job Requirements

Primary Responsibilities

  • Investigate production equipment solutions and develop new or modify existing equipment designs
  • Create and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and design documentation
  • Design, develop and implement mechanical equipment and tools, layouts and simulation models
  • Develop and maintain standards within the virtual area
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, production, quality and ergonomics team for tool development activities and input collection.
  • Contact with suppliers on digital model issues, manufacturability of tools and other requirements collection and align with the same.

Authorities

  • Escalate problems to team leaders and project managers
  • Plans and performs own tasks
  • Follow up and control work performed by suppliers


Work Experience

Requirements:

Education and experience

Diploma with Tool Design / B.Tech in Mechanical Engg.

8+ years of Tool design experience from the manufacturing industry.

Work exposure in BIW is an advantage.

  • Good knowledge and In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, welding, Drilling & Lean Manufacturing Principles.

Good knowledge of Manufacturing and Assembly Process.

Good understanding of Engineering Drawing reading, Drawing and detailing standards.

Good knowledge and skills in digital tools (CATIA/3DX/Process Simulate) in the Virtual area.

Hands-on experience in at least one PLM software (Windchill Preferred)

Skills and Competence:

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Indepth knowledge of Tooling design principles, GD&T & DFM Principles.

Planning and estimation skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
