Job Overview

We are seeking a Junior Medical Gastroenterologist to join our full-time team in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 3 years of relevant clinical experience and a strong commitment to excellence in patient care, diagnostic acumen, and endoscopic procedures within a hospital setting.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Colonoscopy (Mandatory skill): Proven proficiency in performing and interpreting colonoscopy procedures for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
  • Endoscopy (Mandatory skill): Hands-on experience in upper and lower GI endoscopic procedures is essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  • ERCP (Mandatory skill): Practical expertise in ERCP for evaluating and managing biliary and pancreatic disorders is required for this position.
  • Clinical Diagnosis: Competence in evaluating symptoms, formulating differential diagnoses, and recommending suitable investigations.
  • Patient Assessment: Ability to conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including detailed history-taking and physical examinations.
  • Therapeutic Endoscopy: Skilled in various therapeutic endoscopic interventions, such as hemostasis and polypectomy, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Experience working collaboratively with medical teams, surgeons, nursing, and allied health professionals for comprehensive care.
  • Excellent communication skills: Capable of explaining diagnoses and procedures to patients and families and documenting findings clearly in medical records.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy, endoscopy, and ERCP to evaluate and treat GI conditions.
  • Provide detailed clinical diagnosis and ongoing management of patients with gastrointestinal, liver, and pancreatic disorders.
  • Assess, monitor, and document patient progress, updating treatment plans as needed in coordination with medical teams.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive and integrated patient care.
  • Participate actively in hospital rounds, case discussions, and departmental meetings as required.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, procedures, and aftercare instructions for improved outcomes.
  • Adhere to high standards of infection control, patient safety, and medical ethics during all patient interactions and procedures.
  • Contribute to clinical audits, quality initiatives, and continuous medical education to uphold and advance the hospitals standards of care.
