Process Engineer - Thermodynamics Evolution

Mission:
The Thermodynamics Software Engineer is responsible for maintaining, developing, and enhancing the thermodynamic calculation capabilities used within the GHG emissions platform. This role combines process engineering knowledge with software development expertise to deliver robust thermodynamic models, improve calculation algorithms, ensure result accuracy, and support process engineers in the effective configuration and use of thermodynamic applications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and maintain thermodynamic models for a wide range of process equipment and industrial applications.
2. Implement new calculation methodologies and improve existing thermodynamic models to meet evolving business and operational requirements.
3. Ensure models are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with industry's best practices.
4. Software Development & Integration
5. Develop and maintain BEST integration with the GHG emissions ecosystem and related applications.
6. Design, implement, and optimize software components supporting thermodynamic calculations.
7. Contribute to application architecture, code quality, and software reliability.
8. Validate thermodynamic calculations and model outputs against engineering references, operational data, and expected process behavior.
9. Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure software stability, accuracy, and performance.
10. Continuously improve thermodynamic algorithms to increase accuracy, efficiency.
11. Evaluate and implement advanced calculation methods and optimization techniques.
12. Support innovation initiatives related to process simulation and digital engineering solutions.
13. Provide technical support to Process Engineers regarding software configuration.
14. Assist users in troubleshooting calculation issues and interpreting results.
15. Collaborate closely with process engineers, model management specialists, and software development teams to deliver integrated solutions.
16. Manage development activities through Jira and GitHub workflows.
17. Contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices using GitHub Actions and automated testing frameworks.

Work Experience
1. Bachelor's or master's degree in chemical engineering with 5+ Years experience.
2. Strong programming skills in C++, Qt, Python, CMake, Bash, and PowerShell.
3. Experience with Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, and automated testing frameworks.
4. Experience with software development in Linux and Windows environments.
5. Strong understanding of Equation of State (EOS) methodologies, PVT calculations, fluid properties, and phase behavior analysis.
6. Solid knowledge of process simulation fundamentals and thermodynamic principles applicable to oil and gas production systems.
7. Ability to combine thermodynamic and process engineering expertise with software development skills to support model development, validation, and optimization activities.
