Key Responsibilities
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineering & Factory Optimization Consultant to improve operational efficiency, capacity utilization, and engineering productivity across high-precision semiconductor equipment assembly, integration, calibration, and test operations.
The role will evaluate factory workflows, identify operational bottlenecks, optimize factory layout and resource utilization, and develop practical recommendations to improve throughput, quality, and capital efficiency before additional facility expansion is required.
The ideal candidate combines strong industrial engineering principles with experience in semiconductor equipment, cleanroom operations, and precision electromechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Process Optimization: Drive Lean and continuous improvement projects to improve key operational metrics, efficiency, and safety
Automation Management: Oversee and integrate automated warehouse technologies like AGV (Automated Guided Vehicles), AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robots), and ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems)
Facility Design: Create and map out the layout of facilities and material flow systems to minimize production bottlenecks
Safety & Ergonomics: Conduct routine ergonomics assessments and implement facility safety improvements
Documentation & Training: Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), project documentation, and training materials for new equipment and processes
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the supply chain, purchasing, and design teams to source and redesign packaging/crates and reduce costs
Assess factory workflow, capacity utilization, and operational efficiency
Analyze material flow, workstation layout, and resource utilization
Identify bottlenecks across assembly, integration, calibration, qualification, and test operations
Recommend improvements to factory layout, workflow, and operational efficiency
Optimize utilization of factory assets, cleanroom space, and engineering resources
Capacity Planning & Operations
Evaluate factory capacity against future business demand
Develop capacity models and factory expansion scenarios
Improve utilization of technicians, equipment, cleanroom space, and critical resources
Support long-term factory planning and operational scalability

Work Experience
Desired Qualifications
Required
BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline
10+ years in semiconductor equipment or other high-precision engineering industries
Familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), RFID/barcode systems, and packaging systems
Strong experience in industrial engineering, factory optimization, and operational excellence
Experience leading Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
