SAP ABAP LEAD

Key Responsibilities

• Lead SAP technical development and delivery.
• Manage ABAP, RAP, CAP, Fiori, and BTP development teams.
• Design and develop solutions for S/4HANA Private Cloud.
• Work with functional teams to understand requirements and define technical solutions.
• Review technical designs, estimates, code, and development quality.
• Lead development using ABAP Cloud, RAP, CAP, CDS, and OData.
• Support Fiori application development and backend services.
• Ensure solutions follow SAP Clean Core principles.
• Use the right approach for:
  • In-App Extensibility
  • Developer Extensibility
  • Side-by-Side Extensibility
• Lead SAP and non-SAP integrations using APIs, OData, Integration Suite, etc.
• Troubleshoot complex technical and performance issues.
• Manage technical risks, issues, dependencies, and escalations.
• Support testing, deployment, cutover, go-live, and production support.
• Mentor team members and support technical skill development.
• Support project estimation, planning, proposals, and client presentations.

• 10–15 years of SAP ABAP experience.
• Strong experience in S/4HANA development.
• Good hands-on experience with:
  • ABAP / Object-Oriented ABAP
  • ABAP Cloud
  • RAP
  • CDS Views
  • OData V4
  • SAP Gateway
  • ADT / Eclipse
• Experience with CAP development using Node.js or Java.
• Good understanding of SAP BTP and Cloud Foundry.
• Experience with SAP Integration Suite and APIs.
• Good understanding of SAP Fiori / Fiori Elements.
• Strong debugging and performance-tuning skills.
• Experience with technical estimation, code reviews, and team management.

• Experience working with S/4HANA Private Cloud / RISE with SAP.
• Good understanding of SAP Clean Core.
• Ability to choose between standard SAP functionality, in-app extensions, developer extensions, and BTP side-by-side extensions.
• Experience with upgrade-safe and maintainable development.
• Understanding of custom code modernization and S/4HANA migration.

• Ability to manage timelines, risks, and priorities.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to business and technical teams.

• SAP ABAP / S/4HANA / BTP certification.
• SAP Integration Suite experience.
• SAP Fiori and UI5 experience.
• SAP HANA Cloud experience.
• Event-driven architecture / Event Mesh knowledge.
• Agile / SAP Activate experience.
• Presales, estimation, and proposal experience.
