Job Description:

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily operational activities across the end-to-end SAM lifecycle.
  • Review software inventory data received from SCCM/MECM, Intune, Jamf, cloud, SaaS, CMDB, and other approved discovery sources.
  • Analyse software installations, usage, users, devices, ownership, and deployment information.
  • Identify missing, duplicate, stale, incorrectly classified, or incomplete software inventory records.
  • Perform software normalisation and validate software product, publisher, edition, version, and categorisation information.
  • Maintain software models and supporting data within the SAM platform.
  • Collect, validate, and maintain software licence entitlement information from contracts, purchase orders, invoices, licence certificates, and publisher portals.
  • Map licences and entitlements to applicable software products and licence metrics.
  • Run and validate reconciliation processes.
  • Investigate reconciliation exceptions and resolve data-related issues.
  • Monitor software compliance positions and identify over-licensed and under-licensed products.
  • Perform Effective Licence Position analysis for selected publishers.
  • Identify unused, underutilised, duplicate, or unnecessarily allocated software licences.
  • Support licence harvesting, reclamation, reuse, transfer, and right-sizing activities.
  • Track licence optimisation opportunities and realised benefits.
  • Support software renewal activities through licence consumption, entitlement, utilisation, and forecast analysis.
  • Validate software requests against available licence inventory before new procurement.
  • Support application owners and end users with software entitlement and licence-related queries.
  • Maintain publisher and product-level licence information.
  • Support compliance assessments, true-up exercises, vendor reviews, and software audits.
  • Gather and maintain evidence required for internal and external audits.
  • Monitor SAM operational queues, incidents, service requests, exceptions, and assigned work items.
  • Perform data-quality checks and corrective actions.
  • Generate operational, compliance, optimisation, and management reports.
  • Track ageing items and ensure timely closure within agreed SLA targets.
  • Escalate licence risks, reconciliation failures, data gaps, renewal risks, and operational blockers.
  • Participate in weekly operational reviews and monthly governance meetings.
  • Maintain operational documentation, knowledge articles, runbooks, and work instructions.
  • Identify repetitive activities that can be automated and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Work with the Process Improvement Lead and SAM Tool Expert to implement approved process and platform improvements.
