AWS Integration Tech Lead - API
This role is part of a large-scale integration platform transformation, where APIs are a key integration pattern across multiple systems and business domains. The API Tech Lead will guide design, development, and implementation of APIs on AWS, working closely with architects and integration teams.
The role becomes critical during the early program waves, supporting API modernization, ensuring consistent design patterns, and enabling reliable, scalable services. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive API standards, ensure performance, and support seamless system integration in a cloud-native environment.

Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong experience in API design and development (RESTful services)
- Experience with AWS services (API Gateway, Lambda, integration patterns)
- Good understanding of microservices architecture and integration concepts
- Experience in enterprise integration environments
- Strong problem-solving and technical leadership skills
Good-to-Have
- Exposure to event-driven and messaging-based integration patterns
- Experience with Spring Boot/microservices frameworks
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices
- Understanding of security and API management concepts
- Experience in large transformation or modernization programs preferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 6-10 years of overall IT experience with strong API/integration background
API Design & Development
- Lead design and development of REST APIs and integration services
- Define API structures, contracts, and best practices for scalable implementations
- Ensure consistency in API design patterns across teams
Technology Leadership
- Provide technical guidance to development teams for API implementation
- Support adoption of AWS-native integration services and modern architectures
- Review code and ensure adherence to design standards
Integration Enablement
- Build APIs to support enterprise integrations across systems and domains
- Work across multiple integration patterns involving real-time and asynchronous flows
- Ensure APIs are aligned with overall integration architecture
Performance & Reliability
- Monitor API performance and support optimization efforts
- Ensure APIs meet expected reliability, scalability, and availability standards
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
Collaboration & Governance
- Work closely with architects, platform teams, and integration engineers
- Drive adoption of API governance, versioning, and lifecycle management practices
- Support delivery timelines and program milestones
