Role Summary

\n

The Associate Medical Manager – Hospitals will support the Medical Affairs function for the Anti‑infectives portfolio, with a key focus on upcoming antibiotics launches in the hospital segment.

\n

This role is a hybrid position , involving approximately 7–8 days/month of field work (FW) focused on scientific engagement with hospital-based stakeholders, with the remaining time in the Head Office (HO) supporting strategy, evidence generation, and cross-functional collaboration.

\n

The incumbent will contribute to scientific exchange, KOL engagement, and launch excellence , ensuring ethical and compliant dissemination of medical information to support optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

\n

1. Scientific & Medical Expertise

\n
    \n
  • Develop strong expertise in anti-infectives/antibiotics , including mechanism of action, resistance patterns, treatment guidelines, and clinical data.
  • \n
  • Provide high-quality scientific support to internal teams (marketing, sales, market access) and external stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Stay updated on emerging resistance trends, stewardship practices, and hospital protocols .
  • \n
  • Support development and delivery of scientific training programs for internal stakeholders.
  • \n

2. Field Medical Engagement (Hospitals Focus)

  • Conduct 7–8 days/month of field visits to engage with:
  • \n
  • Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
  • \n
  • Infectious disease specialists
  • \n
  • Intensivists, microbiologists, and hospital pharmacists
  • \n
  • Drive scientific discussions on antibiotic usage, resistance, and appropriate patient selection.
  • \n
  • Support pre-launch and launch activities through scientific positioning of products.
  • \n
  • Gather insights from field interactions to refine medical and brand strategies.
  • \n
\n

3. Stakeholder Engagement & Medical Communication

  • Build and maintain relationships with hospital-based HCPs, KOLs, and institutions .
  • \n
  • Support and/or independently conduct:
  • \n
  • Advisory boards
  • \n
  • Round table meetings
  • \n
  • Scientific speaker programs
  • \n
  • Deliver presentations at CMEs, conferences, and hospital scientific meetings .
  • \n
  • Ensure accurate, balanced, and compliant communication of scientific information.
  • \n

4. Medical Strategy & Launch Support

  • Contribute to medical launch planning for new antibiotics in the hospital segment.
  • \n
  • Provide medical inputs for:
  • \n
  • Brand strategy
  • \n
  • Scientific campaigns
  • \n
  • Value communication (clinical differentiation, stewardship relevance)
  • \n
  • Support generation of real-world evidence (RWE) and investigator-initiated studies (IIS) where applicable.
  • \n
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on launch readiness and execution .
  • \n

5. Evidence Generation & Insights

\n
    \n
  • Identify gaps in clinical evidence and support data-generation initiatives.
  • \n
  • Collect and synthesize field insights on treatment practices, resistance patterns, and unmet needs.
  • \n
  • Support publication planning and scientific content development .
  • \n
\n

6. Compliance & Ethical Standards

  • Ensure all activities adhere to company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements . [1]

  • Review promotional and scientific materials for medical accuracy and compliance .
  • \n
  • Maintain strict adherence to antibiotic stewardship principles in all communications.

Key Requirements

Education

\n
    \n
  • MBBS / MD / PharmD / PhD
  • \n
\n

\n

Experience

\n
    \n
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Affairs , specifically in:
  • \n
  • Anti-infectives / Antibiotics
  • \n
  • Hospital-focused roles preferred
  • \n
  • Experience in launch support or pre-launch activities is highly desirable.
  • \n
\n
