About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Executive Director / Technical Director who combines strong technical leadership with hands-on engineering expertise. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Java-based enterprise application development, a proven track record of leading high-performing engineering teams, and practical experience leveraging AI technologies to build intelligent products and improve engineering productivity.

This is a highly technical leadership role where the candidate is expected to drive architecture, mentor engineering teams, make strategic technology decisions, and remain hands-on with design and critical development activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and delivery of large-scale enterprise applications using Java technologies.
\n
• Drive engineering excellence, technical strategy, and best practices across multiple development teams.
\n
• Manage and mentor engineering managers, technical leads, and software engineers.
\n
• Participate in hands-on architecture, design reviews, code reviews, and solution implementation.
\n
• Build scalable, secure, and high-performance distributed systems.
\n
• Drive adoption of AI-powered engineering practices and modern software development methodologies.
\n
• Work closely with business stakeholders, product management, and customers to define technical roadmaps.
\n
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI/ML, Generative AI, and automation to improve products and engineering efficiency.
\n
• Ensure high-quality software delivery through Agile and DevOps practices.
\n
• Own technical governance, engineering standards, scalability, security, and performance.

Required Skills

Technical Expertise

\n
• 15+ years of software development experience.
\n
• Strong hands-on experience in Core Java, Java 8/11/17+, Spring Boot, Microservices.
\n
• Deep understanding of Distributed Systems and Enterprise Architecture.
\n
• Strong experience in REST APIs, Messaging (Kafka/RabbitMQ), Multithreading, JVM Performance Tuning.
\n
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
\n
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
\n
• Strong database knowledge (SQL & NoSQL).
\n
• Excellent understanding of System Design, Design Patterns, and scalable architecture.
\n

Leadership Experience

\n
• Proven experience leading large engineering teams (30+ engineers preferred).
\n
• Experience managing Engineering Managers and Technical Leads.
\n
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
\n
• Ability to drive technical transformation and organizational growth.
\n
• Experience delivering multiple enterprise-scale programs simultaneously.
