Agentic Platform Engineer
About the Role
We're looking for an early-career engineer to help build the orchestration layer that lets AI agents safely build and operate our CI/CD pipelines, AWS infrastructure, Terraform-managed environments, and Jenkins, Urban Code Deploy CI/CD pipelines.
This isn't a traditional DevSecOps or DevOps role. The core job is software engineering, writing Python or Java to define the tools, guardrails, and integrations that agents call in order to plan, provision, deploy, and remediate our CI/CD pipelines.
We're specifically looking for someone early in their career who is a fast learner and genuinely comfortable working alongside AI coding and agent tools day-to-day - someone who'd rather teach an agent to do a repetitive task well than do it manually five more times.
What You'll Do
Design and build the tools, action definitions, and APIs that AI agents use to interact with AWS, Terraform, Jenkins, UCD
Write production Python or Java to implement orchestration logic: routing, retries, validation, and sequencing of multi-step agent workflows
Build guardrails and permission boundaries so agents operate within safe, well-defined limits
Create observability into what agents are doing and why - tracing, logging, and evaluation so failures are diagnosable rather than mysterious
Partner with senior engineers to identify which manual DevOps/DevSecOps workflows are good candidates for agent-driven automation, and which should stay human-run
Continuously learn the underlying tools (AWS, Terraform, Jenkins, UCD) deeply enough to know what "correct" looks like for the agents you're building
Experience
0-3 years of professional software engineering experience, with strong proficiency in Python or Java
Experience using AI coding or agent tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot)
Familiarity with AWS (or another major cloud provider)
Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code concepts (Terraform or similar)
Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools (Jenkins , Urban Code deploy or similar)
A track record of picking up new tools quickly
Nice to Have
Experience with the AWS Bedrock ecosystem, Model Context Protocol (MCP), or other agent/tool-orchestration frameworks
Exposure to observability tooling
Any hands-on experience with security scanning tools (SAST/DAST, e.g., SonarQube, Snyk)
Contributions to open-source projects, personal automation projects, or a portfolio-ready agent build
