Database Administrator

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain database environments.
• Manage and support databases such as SAP HANA, MaxDB, MS SQL Server, or MySQL.
• Perform database upgrades, patching, and version migrations.
• Monitor database performance, availability, capacity, and health.
• Perform data migration and database maintenance activities.
• Manage database objects including tables, indexes, constraints, and views.
• Troubleshoot database performance and connectivity issues.
• Provide support for large and complex database landscapes.
• Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities.
• Support database security, access management, and user administration.
• Work on incident, problem, and change management following ITIL processes.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and technical teams to resolve database-related issues.
• Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Provide production support and participate in on-call activities when required.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Database Administration.
• Hands-on experience with at least one of:
  • SAP HANA
  • SAP MaxDB
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • MySQL
• Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.
• Experience in database installation and configuration.
• Experience with database upgrades and patching.
• Hands-on experience with data migration.
• Good understanding of tables, indexes, constraints, and views.
• Experience supporting large database landscapes.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery concepts.
• Experience with ITIL Incident and Problem Management.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
