\nJob Title: Medical Coder (1–2 Years Experience)

\nWorking Days & Time: 12 noon to 9 pm IST & 1 Saturday working in every month.
\nRoles and Responsibilities:
\n- \n
- Independently read, review, and accurately code incoming medical correspondence and patient records using standard coding classifications (e.g., ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, as applicable). \n
- Apply working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical documentation to assign correct codes with minimal supervision. \n
- Ensure coded information, investigations, diagnoses, and follow-ups are accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant coding guidelines. \n
- Identify discrepancies, missing documentation, or coding errors and escalate/query with clinicians for clarification. \n
- Alert clinicians to medical problems, new diagnoses, or medications that need follow-up. \n
- Notify GPs, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals of new chronic diseases requiring ongoing monitoring. \n
- Support and mentor trainee coders as needed, reviewing their work for accuracy where required. \n
- Maintain productivity and quality benchmarks consistent with 1–2 years of hands-on coding experience. \n
- Stay updated on coding guideline changes, payer-specific rules, and compliance requirements. \n
Education/Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification (life sciences, nursing, pharmacy, or related field preferred). \n
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification preferred. \n
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience in medical coding, preferably in a similar role. \n
Skills and Abilities:

- Strong working knowledge of medical terminology and its translation into accurate codes on patient records. \n
- Practical experience applying ICD-10/CPT coding guidelines in a real-world setting. \n
- Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated track record of accuracy. \n
- Ability to work with data, identifying patterns, trends, and anomalies. \n
- Excellent communication skills with colleagues and healthcare professionals; positive, proactive, and informative approach. \n
- Good working knowledge of IT packages including Word, Excel, and Outlook. \n
- Experience with or ability to quickly learn coding/EHR software such as Doc Man and EMIS Web. \n
- Proven ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy. \n
- Able to work independently and largely unsupervised. \n
- Efficient, reliable, and committed to delivering quality work consistently. \n
