Ignition Developer

Core Technical Skills:

1. Ignition Platform Mastery: Proficiency in Ignition Designer. Ability to build, configure, and maintain scalable SCADA/MES applications.

2. Web Development Module: Experience with Ignition's Web Dev module to create and expose RESTful APIs and handle HTTP requests/responses. Ability to build custom web services, integrate third-party applications, and extend Ignition functionality through web endpoints.

3. Scripting & Logic: Strong proficiency in Python/Jython for advanced component customization, event scripting, and system automation.

4. Database Management: Expert-level SQL knowledge (MySQL, MSSQL) for data logging, reporting, and transaction group configuration.

5. Industrial Protocols: Hands-on experience configuring OPC-UA, MQTT and Modbus for seamless device integration.

6. Tag & View Design: Ability to build robust User Defined Types (UDTs) for scalable, reusable, and maintainable tag structures.

Key Responsibilities & Additional Skills:

Networking & IT/OT Integration: Knowledge of network architectures to ensure secure and reliable data flow between factory floor and enterprise-level systems.

Security: Implementation of best practices for Ignition security, including user authentication, role-based access control, and secure API design within the Web Dev module.
