Job Type: Full-time

We are looking for a highly proactive and execution-focused Chief of Staff to work closely with the CEO and help drive priorities across multiple business functions. This is a high-ownership role for someone who can move seamlessly between strategy, operations, partnerships, people, finance, and execution.

The ideal candidate is not simply a coordinator or note-taker. You will act as a trusted extension of the CEO, represent leadership in important conversations, drive decisions to completion, and ensure that commitments translate into measurable outcomes.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted extension and proxy of the CEO across internal and external engagements.
  • Represent leadership in meetings with clients, partners, senior stakeholders, and business teams when required.
  • Track CEO and leadership commitments and ensure important actions are followed through to completion.
  • Own initiatives from decision through execution, coordinating stakeholders and removing blockers.
  • Manage priorities across multiple business units and identify issues requiring immediate attention.
  • Translate strategic direction into clear actions, owners, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
  • Work closely with business leaders, Finance, HR, Delivery, and other functions to drive organisational priorities.
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives across US and India teams and ensure effective communication.
  • Follow up on contracts, vendor engagements, operational requirements, and other business commitments until closure.
  • Identify unresolved issues, gaps, and dependencies and proactively drive them toward resolution.
  • Handle sensitive or difficult conversations and hold stakeholders accountable when necessary.
  • Support strategic planning, business reviews, operational analysis, and leadership decision-making.
  • Build and improve internal processes where gaps or inefficiencies are identified.
  • Use AI tools and automation to improve productivity, research, analysis, communication, and execution.
  • Prepare concise recommendations and decision-support materials rather than simply reporting information.
  • Ensure important initiatives remain on track without requiring constant CEO intervention.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • 4-8 years of experience, including at least 2 years in Chief of Staff, Founder's Office, Business Operations, Consulting, Program Management, or a similar high-ownership role.
  • Proven experience working directly with a Founder, CEO, or senior executive and acting as a trusted representative.
  • Strong execution mindset with a demonstrated ability to take ownership and close the loop.
  • Ability to move quickly from ambiguity to action and make sound decisions with incomplete information.
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation, and project-management skills.
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to distinguish between what is urgent and what is genuinely important.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable holding people accountable, challenging assumptions, and navigating difficult conversations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently structure messy or undefined problems and recommend solutions.
  • Comfortable working across multiple functions rather than operating within a single domain.
  • Willingness to handle both strategic initiatives and detailed operational execution.
  • Based in Chennai and comfortable working closely with the CEO, including business travel when required.
  • Strong interest in using AI and modern productivity tools as force multipliers for research, analysis, communication, and execution.

Good to Have

  • Experience in IT services, consulting, or multi-business environments.
  • Basic financial literacy, including the ability to understand P&L statements, margins, profitability, and business metrics.
  • Experience working with US-based stakeholders or clients.
  • Demonstrated experience building or improving internal processes from the ground up.
