Assistant General Manager (AGM)

Position Summary
\nThis role will assume full accountability for operations at Bobst India's BIN2 Plant (BIN2A & BIN2B), ensuring On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery of high-quality products at optimal cost. As a senior leader, the role requires driving operational excellence, delivery performance, safety and cost while empowering teams and fostering a customer-centric culture. The candidate will oversee a cross-functional team professionals across Assembly, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Planning, Procurement, Industrial Engineering, Safety and Quality. This role requires strong leadership, accountability, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n1. Manufacturing Operations

- Lead end-to-end plant operations to ensure timely, cost-efficient, and high-quality production. \n
- Develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with business objectives and production targets. \n
- Optimize workflows, maximize resource utilization, and drive cost reduction initiatives. \n
- Ensure proper maintenance and reliability of equipment and facilities. \n
- Track performance metrics, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions. \n
2. Quality Management

- Establish and sustain a robust quality management system. \n
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and minimize defects and customer complaints. \n
- Ensure compliance with industry and customer standards. \n
3. Safety Management
\n- \n
- Provide a safe and healthy workplace through effective safety systems and protocols. \n
- Conduct audits and risk assessments to proactively mitigate hazards. \n
- Foster a strong safety culture and employee engagement in HSE programs. \n
- Ensure adherence to local and national safety regulations in the plant. \n
4. Product Development

- Partner with R&D to drive new product introductions. \n
- Integrate new products seamlessly into manufacturing processes. \n
- Enhance product designs for manufacturability and cost efficiency. \n
- Lead cross-functional teams in product launch execution. \n
5. Procurement & Supply Chain
\n- \n
- Oversee procurement to ensure timely, cost-effective sourcing of materials and components. \n
- Implement strategies to optimize supplier performance and reduce costs without compromising quality. \n
- Manage supplier relationships and resolve delivery, quality, or pricing issues. \n
6. Continuous Improvement & People Development

- Champion Lean practices and a culture of continuous improvement. \n
- Coach and empower teams, providing timely and constructive feedback. \n
- Build a safety-first mindset across the organization. \n
- Lead with integrity, aligned to company values and code of conduct. \n
Requirements for the Role
\n- \n
- Education \n
- Bachelor's degree (BE/B.Tech.) in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering (Full-time). \n
- Experience \n
- 15+ years in manufacturing, preferably in the engineering domain. \n
- Significant leadership experience across multiple plant operations. \n
- Proven track record in timely delivery, profitability, safety, and operational excellence. \n

- Technical & Functional Expertise \n
- End-to-end manufacturing operations: assembly, fabrication, machining, painting, logistics, and supply chain. \n
- Expertise in supply base expansion, capability building, and operational scale-up. \n
- Deep knowledge of Lean manufacturing and operational excellence strategies. \n
- Strong commitment to sustainability, health, safety, environment (HSE), and quality excellence. \n
- Skilled in stakeholder management, including suppliers, dealers, customers, and labor unions. \n
- Experience in multicultural, global environments with ability to contribute to global discussions. \n
- Exposure to automation, digitalization, and data analytics in manufacturing. \n
