Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Performance Tuning Specialist to join our team and drive optimization across our SQL database environments. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in SQL database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting, with a passion for ensuring databases operate at peak efficiency. This role is critical to our business operations, as our systems rely heavily on high-performing, scalable, and reliable databases.

Key Responsibilities

1. Analyze SQL database performance and identify areas for optimization and improvement
\n
2. Design and implement strategies to enhance database performance, scalability, and efficiency
\n
3. Monitor database health and performance, proactively addressing potential issues
\n
4. Troubleshoot and resolve complex SQL performance bottlenecks and database issues
\n
5. Collaborate with developers, DBAs, and system administrators to optimize queries and system performance
\n
6. Participate in database design and development to ensure performance optimization from inception
\n
7. Conduct regular performance testing and provide actionable recommendations
\n
8. Assist in capacity planning and ensure database scalability for future business growth
\n
9. Implement and promote best practices, standards, and governance for database performance
\n
10. Maintain detailed documentation for performance tuning processes and procedures
\n
11. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members on SQL performance tuning
\n
12. Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in database performance optimization
\n

Qualifications

\n
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
\n
2. Minimum 7 years of experience in SQL database administration and performance tuning
\n
3. Strong expertise in:

4. SQL query optimization
\n
5. Indexing strategies
\n
6. Execution plans
\n
7. Database design principles
\n
8. Hands-on experience with database monitoring and performance tuning tools
\n
9. Solid understanding of database security, data integrity, and best practices
\n
10. Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database performance issues
\n
11. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
\n
12. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
\n
13. Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment
