\nJob Summary:
\nWe are looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux-based systems, while also contributing to software deployment, security management, and issue resolution. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong foundation in Linux system administration and automation tools to grow within a collaborative environment.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\n- \n
- Install, configure, optimize, and troubleshoot Linux server environments. \n
- Deploy and manage both open-source and proprietary software applications. \n
- Quickly identify and resolve system-related operational issues. \n
- Monitor and maintain system security, performance, and reliability. \n
- Provide user support for access and resource-related issues. \n
- Collaborate with vendors to address hardware and software concerns. \n
- Document procedures, workflows, and best practices in internal knowledge bases. \n
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as required. \n
Qualifications and Skills:
\n- \n
- Master’s degree in Mathematics, Science, Computer Science/Applications, ora Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. \n
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Linux+, LPIC-1/LPIC-2, or RHCSA are highly desirable. \n
- Strong understanding of networking, file systems, system monitoring, backup/recovery processes, and virtualization. \n
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python. \n
- Experience with automation tools like Ansible or XCAT for provisioning and configuration management. \n
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration. \n
Key Roles:
\nInstall, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu,RHEL)
\nMonitor server health, performance, and system availability.
\nPerform system upgrades, patch management, and kernel updates.
\nManage user accounts, permissions, groups, and access control.
\nConfigure and maintain services such as Apache, Nginx, SSH, FTP, DNS, DHCP, and NFS.
\nTroubleshoot operating system, network, and application issues.
\nMonitor logs and identify root causes of system problems.
\nAutomate routine administrative tasks using Bash or shell scripts.
\nManage storage, LVM, RAID, and file systems.
\nEnsure server security through hardening, firewall configuration, and vulnerability remediation.
\nMaintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and changes.
\nFamiliarity with virtualization platforms such as KVM etc..,
\nDeploy, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain open-source applications for Linux environments, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, security compliance, and seamless integration with infrastructure components. Perform root cause analysis (RCA), application tuning, version upgrades, patch management, and production issue resolution for mission-critical services.
\nKnowledge of Docker,gitlab,and RDBMS.
\nKnowledge of Tape Backups and restoration
\nKnowledge of HPC cluster and slurm job scheduler.
\nKnowledge of windows troubleshooting is added advantages.
