Key Responsibilities

\n
• Required Skills Perform IBM i (AS400/iSeries) administration, including system installation, IBM Program Temporary Fixes (PTFs), software installation, configuration, HMC/LPAR administration, security administration, and operating system maintenance.
\n
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of IBM i hardware, server resources, system performance, scheduled jobs, backups, and critical system processes.
\n
• Recommend, schedule, and implement IBM i hardware/software upgrades, PTFs, operating system upgrades, maintenance activities, and infrastructure improvements.
\n
• Perform problem isolation, root cause analysis, incident resolution, and follow-up for IBM i software, hardware, application, and user-reported issues in a production environment.
\n
• Review system and application logs, verify scheduled jobs, backup completion, and maintain High Availability (MIMIX/PowerHA) and Disaster Recovery environments.
\n
• Install, upgrade, configure, test, and maintain IBM i and third-party software applications.
\n
• Control user access, manage user profiles, authorities, passwords, and maintain a secure IBM i environment including SOX compliance activities.
\n
• Administer and maintain the Automic scheduling environment and support enterprise batch operations.
\n
• Provide L2 operational support across Windows/Linux servers, Microsoft Azure (preferred) or AWS cloud environments, VMware, enterprise storage, and backup platforms (Veeam/ExaGrid or equivalent).
\n
• Participate in infrastructure automation initiatives using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar scripting technologies.
\n
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Network, Security, Storage, and Application teams on production support, planned maintenance, infrastructure projects, and operational improvements.
\n
• Participate in on-call support for emergency Change Requests (CRs), Priority-1 (P1) incidents, planned maintenance, and Disaster Recovery activities.
\n
• Prepare operational documentation, support internal/external audits, and continuously identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency

Required Skills

\n
• Proven hands-on experience in IBM i (AS400/iSeries) Administration within enterprise production environments.
\n
• Proven experience with IBM Program Temporary Fixes (PTFs), HMC, LPAR Administration, BRMS, IBM i Security Administration, User Profile Management, High Availability/Disaster Recovery (MIMIX/PowerHA or equivalent), Automic, CL (Control Language), Query/400, SQL Principles, DB2, FTP/SFTP, TCP/IP, IBM MQ, Client Access (iSeries Access), and SOX Compliance.
\n
• Proven hands-on experience supporting Windows Server and/or Linux Administration in production environments.
\n
• Demonstrated operational experience supporting Microsoft Azure (preferred) or AWS Cloud Administration, including infrastructure monitoring, user administration, operational support, and incident resolution.
\n
• Proven experience with VMware Administration, Enterprise Storage Administration, and Enterprise Backup platforms (Veeam, ExaGrid, or equivalent).
\n
• Experience working within ITIL-based production support environments covering Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
\n
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and customer-facing skills with the ability to independently handle production incidents and infrastructure issues.
\n
• Experience with PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar scripting technologies for automation and operational efficiency.
\n

Preferred Skills

\n
• Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise infrastructure across multiple technology domains in addition to IBM i.
\n
• Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Dell PowerEdge Platforms, SAN/NAS Storage.
\n
• VMware vSphere Administration.
\n
• Azure and/or AWS infrastructure administration.
\n
• Infrastructure automation using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
\n
• Monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, or equivalent.
\n
• JDE World, JDE OneWorld, Hawkeye, DBU, Crystal Reports.
\n

Experience

\n
• 4+ years of proven hands-on experience supporting IBM i (AS400/iSeries) operating systems in enterprise production environments.
\n
• 2+ years of demonstrated production support experience in one or more of the following areas: Microsoft Azure (preferred), AWS, Windows Server, Linux, VMware, Enterprise Storage, or Backup technologies.
\n
• Candidates should be able to demonstrate real-world implementation, administration, troubleshooting, and production support experience across the technologies listed above during technical interviews.
\n
