\nLocation: Pune
\nRole Purpose
\nThe OT Network Engineer is responsible for operating and supporting OT network
\nenvironments across factories and industrial sites. The role ensures stable, secure,
\nand resilient OT connectivity supporting plant operations, including industrial
\nswitching, OT firewalls, monitoring, incident response, remote access, lifecycle
\nmanagement, and network changes with minimal production impact.
\nThe engineer works closely with plant OT teams, central IT, security teams, onsite
\nsupport, and vendors to deliver OT network services safely and reliably.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n• Operate and support OT LAN and connectivity services across manufacturing
\nsites.
\n• Ensure network health, availability, and performance aligned with plant
\nconstraints and SLAs.
\n• Support centralized remote operations for OT environments.
\n• Manage industrial switching environments and plant connectivity.
\n• Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize switches, VLANs, segmentation, and
\nredundancy.
\n• Support industrial protocols such as PROFINET, Modbus, and EtherNet/IP.
\n• Support OT firewalls (e.g., mGuard or equivalent).
\n• Implement firewall rules, segmentation, NAT, and secure communication paths.
\n• Align OT network changes with cybersecurity and plant security requirements.
\n• Coordinate with security teams on hardening, patching, vulnerabilities, and
\nsecure remote access.
\n• Monitor OT networks using approved tools.
\n• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, especially production-impacting issues.
\n• Participate in major incidents and maintain accurate ITSM updates.
\n• Execute planned OT network changes within approved processes and
\nmaintenance windows.
\n• Support upgrades, new site rollouts, and design changes.
\n• Maintain configurations, backups, baselines, and rollback plans.
\n• Support secure OT remote access for internal teams and approved vendors.
\n• Ensure access follows defined approvals, monitoring, and security controls.
\n• Manage OT IP addressing, subnet planning, and documentation.
\n• Support firmware upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management of OT devices.
\n• Track EOL/EOS risks and coordinate upgrades during plant shutdown windows.
\n• Coordinate with onsite teams, OEMs, and vendors for break-fix, RMA, and
\nescalations.
\n• Maintain OT network documentation, diagrams, inventories, and runbooks.
\n• Contribute to RCA and continuous improvement of OT network operations.
\nRequired Skills & Experience
\nTechnical Skills
\n• Strong experience in OT / industrial network operations
\n• Hands-on experience with industrial Ethernet switching
\n• Experience with OT firewalls (mGuard preferred)
\n• Knowledge of network segmentation, IT/OT separation, and OT security zones
\n• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, redundancy, NAT, ACLs, and
\nfirewalls
\n• Experience with monitoring tools, incident/change management, and lifecycle
\nactivities
\n• Knowledge of Purdue model and OT cybersecurity is desirable
\nExperience
\n• 5+ years in network operations, with 2–3 years in OT / industrial environments
\n• Experience supporting manufacturing plants or industrial sites
\n• Experience in high-availability, safety-critical environments
\nSoft Skills
\n• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
\n• Calm under production-impacting situations
\n• Good communication and coordination skills
\n• Strong documentation and change discipline
\n• Willingness to work in 24x7 or on-call support models if required
\nPreferred
\n• Experience in global manufacturing environments
\n• Exposure to OT cybersecurity, IT/OT convergence, or factory modernization
\ninitiative
