The Role

As a Software Engineering Technical Specialist, you will develop solutions, Support and maintain applications built on Micro Focus Cobol and Informix 4 GL.

• System Enhancement: Analyse and modify existing COBOL / Inforix 4GL programs to meet new business requirements, regulatory changes, and performance goals.
• Technical Support: Provide 2nd and 3rd level production support for critical business applications, performing root cause analysis, and implementing timely fixes.
• Integration: Develop and maintain interfaces to integrate COBOL/Informix 4GL applications with modern programming languages and third-party systems.
• Modernization: Participate in projects to re-host or re-platform legacy mainframe workloads to distributed or cloud environments .

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

•Expert proficiency in Cobol & Informix 4GL programming language.

•Strong hands on experience in applications support and enhancements.

•Proficiency with database technologies such as Informed and strong skills in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
