Manager, HCC India serves as the Healthcare Compliance Officer for India, providing end‑to‑end strategic and operational healthcare compliance leadership for DePuy Synthes' Orthopedics business. This role partners closely with country leadership, Legal, business and functional stakeholders, and regional and global Compliance teams to ensure ethical business conduct, effective risk management, and compliance with applicable healthcare laws, regulations, and company policies.\nThis role has a significant impact on protecting the organization's reputation while enabling compliant and sustainable business growth in one of DePuy Synthes' most dynamic and highly regulated markets.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nServe as the primary Healthcare Compliance Officer for India.\n\nLead the development and execution of healthcare compliance strategies aligned with global and regional priorities.\n\nIdentify , assess, and manage compliance risks related to commercial, promotional, professional education, and other business and operational activities.\n\nProvide proactive, practical guidance to business leaders on healthcare compliance requirements and ethical decision‑making.\n\nPartner with cross‑functional stakeholders to embed effective compliance controls into business processes and go‑to‑market models.\n\nOversee core compliance programs, including training, monitoring, risk assessments, and issue management activities across India.\n\nPartner with Legal and other functions to support investigations, audits, and interactions with regulators or health authorities.\n\nMonitor regulatory developments and industry trends in India to anticipate and address emerging compliance risks.\n\nPrepare and present compliance risk assessments, insights, and recommendations to country, regional, and senior leadership.\n\nFoster a strong culture of integrity, accountability, and speak‑up across the Indian organization.\n\nQualifications\nEducation\nRequired: Bachelor's degree in Law , Business, Compliance, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.\n\nPreferred: Advanced degree or professional certification in Compliance, Legal, Risk, or Ethics‑related disciplines.\n\nExperience and Skills\nRequired:\n8-10 years of progressive experience in healthcare compliance, legal, risk management, audit, or related fields.\n\nStrong knowledge of healthcare compliance laws, regulations, and industry codes applicable in India.\n\nDemonstrated leadership experience managing complex, country‑level compliance programs.\n\nProven ability to partner effectively with senior business leaders and cross‑functional stakeholders.\n\nStrong analytical skills, sound judgment, and effective decision‑making and problem‑solving capabilities.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence without formal authority.\n\nPreferred:\nExperience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or the broader life sciences industry.\n\nPrior experience supporting India compliance programs within a global organization.\n\nFamiliarity with compliance monitoring, investigations, remediation, and audits.\n\nExperience operating in highly matrixed, multicultural environments.\n\nStrong change management and stakeholder‑influencing capabilities.\n\nOther\nLanguage: Fluency in English required ; proficiency in local Indian languages preferred.\n\nTravel: Up to 20-30%, primarily within India, with some regional travel.\n\nCertifications: Compliance, legal, or ethics certifications preferred but not required .\n\nFor more information on how we support the whole health of our employees throughout their wellness, career and life journey, please visit www.careers.jnj.com .\nJohnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.
