Subject Matter Expert (SME) - English Language Arts (ELA)

Role: Associate Content and Alignment Specialist\nPosition type: Contract\nCommitment: Full-Time (1:00 PM – 10:00 PM IST)\n\nThe Associate Content and Alignment Specialist will work on standards and alignments initiatives for National and State projects as well as cross-functional projects. This position analyzes content across company products in accordance with national, state, and local standards to create detailed documentation for new content development, customization of existing content, and in support of customer needs. This position also works on projects supporting the development and maintenance of subject-specific taxonomies referred to as the Spine.\n\nEssential Job Functions\nEdit and maintain the Spine.\nUnpack standards into discrete skills creating a subject-specific taxonomic competency framework (Spine).\nAlign taxonomic competency frameworks to standards across all states.\nAlign content to the Spine.\nSupport curriculum-based projects with knowledge of state and national standards including designing custom courses.\nUpdate content alignments including whenever states adopt new standards or make changes to existing standards.\nAnalyze existing content alignments to identify opportunities and gaps.\nCreate learning pathways.\nFulfill other duties as required.\n\nQualifications\nMaster’s (preferred) or Bachelor’s Degree in English\nExperience teaching in K-12, aligning content to academic standards, or developing curriculum preferred.\nAbility to organize complex projects, prioritize multiple deliverables, and meet deadlines.\nStrong writing and proofreading skills with a keen attention to detail.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.\nStrong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.\nExcellent interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.\nThrive in a team-oriented, collaborative, and results-driven workplace.\nSelf-motivated, adaptable, and flexible while managing shifting internal expectations.
