Job Title: Accountant

Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our finance team. The Accountant will assist in various accounting tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, reconciliations, tax filing and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of accounting principles and practices, the tax regulations and be eager to learn and grow in their accounting career.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounts Payable/Receivable: Assist in processing accounts payable invoices, verifying expenses, and preparing payments. Follow up on outstanding invoices and assist with collections. Handle accounts receivable tasks such as invoicing and posting payments.

2. General Ledger Entries: Assist in preparing journal entries, maintaining accurate records, and reconciling accounts to ensure accuracy.

3. Bank Reconciliations: Assist in reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies.

4. Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

5. Assistance in Audits: Support the audit process by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

6. Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.

7. Administrative Tasks: Provide general administrative support to the finance department as needed.

8. Payroll compliance: Preparation of the expense reports of employees, filing of Provident Fund return.

9. Secreterial compliance: Ensure compliance with the laws & regulations of the companies Act, 2013.

10. Tax Regulations: Filing of various tax returns.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field

Good understanding of accounting principles and practices

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software (experience with QuickBooks, and Zoho or similar software)

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Good organizational and time management skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Prior internship or work experience in accounting is a plus but not required
