Senior Structural Design Manager

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join our team, focusing on and involving the assessment, modification, expansion, and retrofitting of existing industrial, commercial, or infrastructure facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing detailed structural analysis, developing repair and strengthening solutions, ensuring the structural integrity and safety of existing assets, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes within operational environments.\n\nKey ResponsibilitiesStructural Assessment and Analysis Conduct detailed structural assessments, investigations, and condition surveys of existing industrial, commercial, and infrastructure facilities.\nPerform structural analysis to evaluate the adequacy, stability, and serviceability of existing structures for current and proposed loading conditions.\nAssess the impact of modifications, equipment additions, change of occupancy, and facility expansions on structural performance.\nRepair, Strengthening, and Retrofit Design Develop practical and cost-effective repair, rehabilitation, strengthening, and retrofitting solutions for existing structures.\nPrepare and review structural calculations, design reports, specifications, and engineering recommendations.\nDesign structural modifications and extensions while ensuring compatibility with existing structural systems.\nProject Execution and Technical Support Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions, collect field data, and support project implementation.\nProvide technical guidance during construction, repair, and strengthening activities.\nReview contractor submissions, method statements, material specifications, and shop drawings related to structural works.\nEnsure compliance with applicable codes, standards, client requirements, and safety regulations.\nTeam Leadership and Design Management Lead and coordinate a team of structural engineers and drafting personnel in the execution of assessment, design, and retrofit projects.\nAllocate project tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.\nMentor and train junior engineers and draftsmen to enhance technical competency and professional development.\nConduct technical reviews and provide engineering guidance to resolve complex structural challenges.\nDesign Review and Quality Assurance Review and approve structural calculations, analysis models, reports, drawings, and other engineering deliverables prepared by team members.\nEnsure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all structural designs with relevant codes, standards, and company quality procedures.\nImplement quality control measures and participate in internal design audits and peer reviews.\nVerify that all issued documents meet the required technical and presentation standards.\nClient and Multidisciplinary Coordination Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, MEP consultants, project managers, contractors, and clients to develop integrated engineering solutions.\nParticipate in client meetings, technical discussions, and project review sessions.\nPresent engineering findings, design recommendations, and project progress updates to stakeholders.\nProject Delivery and Business Support Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource utilization for assigned projects.\nSupport proposal preparation, technical bid evaluations, and estimation of engineering efforts where required.\nContribute to the development of company standards, design methodologies, and best practices related to structural assessment and rehabilitation works.\nKey Accountability Areas Technical accuracy of structural assessments and designs.\nQuality and timely delivery of project documentation.\nEffective leadership and development of engineering team members.\nCompliance with applicable codes, safety requirements, and quality management systems.\nSuccessful execution of retrofit, strengthening, and modification projects within operational facilities.\n\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS\nGeneral Requirements:\nBachelor’s or Master's Degree in Structural Engineering (or Civil Engineering with Structural expertise/experience).\n7-10 years professional experience in commercial, warehouse, and/or industrial new design and remediation with working knowledge of structural engineering conventional practices.\n7-10 years of professional experience with building codes, regulations, and standards including IBC, ASCE & All Indian codes.\nExperience reading, interpreting, and creating construction structural drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.\nAbility and willingness to travel internationally/domestically with short notice.\nSpeaking Hindi would be an added advantage.\nPossess excellent communication and writing skills, attention to detail, maintain high quality standards.\n\nTechnical Skills:\nStrong understanding of structural mechanics, dynamics, and material science (steel, concrete, etc.).\nProficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA-3D, ETABS).\nProficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) for reviewing and potentially preparing drawings.\nIn-depth knowledge of relevant building codes and standards.\nExperience with structural assessment techniques and methodologies.\nExperience with seismic assessment and retrofitting of existing structures.\nExperience related to demolition planning and temporary works design.\nUnderstanding of foundation systems and soil-structure interaction, particularly in relation to existing structures.
